WAHS "Aeshnidae" 2010 1st Place Varsity Team

The Envirothon is an outdoor academic event designed to test high school students’ knowledge and understanding of natural resource issues, and cultivate in the student a desire to learn more about the natural world.  The Warren County Envirothon in Warren, PA has been coordinated by Conservation District staff since its inception in 1991.  Agency representatives from the PA Fish and Boat Commission, PA Game Commission, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources conduct the testing stations of the event.

The event is based on teams of five students testing their skills at aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife, and one new annual current issue. The Warren County champs went on to represent the County at the 27th Pennsylvania State Envirothon.  For the tenth year in a row, the Warren County team placed in the top eight, this year coming in 4th in the state contest out of 65 county teams!  We are very proud of them.
